  • The idea to have a Kali Bari at the then Madras was mooted sometimes in mid-1960 in the mess of Mrs. Sudha Chakravarthy located at 3/1, Station View Road, Kodambakkam, Madras- 24. The initiative came mainly from S/Sri Monoranjan Roy Chowdhury, B. N.Pal, B.Sen, S.N.Bakshi,Tarun Sen, some occupants of the mess, along with Mrs. Sudha Chakravarthy.
  • Consequent to the idea a Society was formed and registered on Feb 28, 1969. Subsequently the activities of Building the Temple was taken up.
